N3 JLPT Blog - Japanese Collocations - Saying what you think in Japanese

Japanese Collocations are natural word combinations that help you say what you mean clearly and help to expand your vocabulary. For example: In English we say "I had a bath" but in Japanese you say "I entered the bath" it is these small differences that help you to make your Japanese smoother and allow you to be more easily understood.

Also by knowing the right words to say at the right time is also important based on the situation. For example: If you get your friend gets their meal first in a restuarant, the might say to you, "osaki ni shitsurei shimasu", sorry my meal came first before yours and you might say in reply, "hai, doozo", yes please start before me.

It's always the little things that help you make big impressions.
